A book presentation of Postgrowth Imaginaries: New Ecologies and Counterhegemonic Culture in Post-2008 Spain by Dr Luis I. Prádanos (Miami University).

Please join us for the presentation of Postgrowth Imaginaries: New Ecologies and Counterhegemonic Culture in Post-2008 Spain (Liverpool University Press, 2018) by Dr. Luis I. Prádanos, Associate Professor of Contemporary Spanish Culture (Miami University).

This exciting talk will incorporate some of the key ideas behind the concept of “postgrowth imaginaries” and their significance for the Environmental Humanities today.

Dr. Prádanos is a leading figure in ecocriticism and energy humanities. In 2017, he edited a special section on “Contemporary Iberian Ecocriticism and New Materialisms” (Letras Hispanas Journal) and co-edited a special number on “South Atlantic Ecocriticism” (Ecozon@ Journal). His new book is a stimulating exploration of the dominant imaginary of growth and its alternatives.
