Registration for degree certificates

Degree certificates are not issued at the ceremonies.

All eligible students receive an email with directions on how to register for their degree certificate and confirm whether or not they wish to attend a Congregation ceremony. If you do not complete registration, your degree certificate will be sent to the address held on record and you will not be included in this or any future ceremony.

For further information on how we use the personal data collected as part of the registration process, please read our Privacy Notice 2021.

Receiving your degree certificate

Your degree certificate will be posted to the address provided during registration and will be dispatched within 8 weeks of the conferral. Overseas students can request courier delivery if you wish to track your certificate or speed up the delivery.

Soon after your degree is conferred, you should receive a pdf of your transcript and a confirmation of award to your Durham University email account. These attachments should be saved immediately as access to them closes after a limited period. Any further pdfs will need to be ordered and paid for, if you fail to save your copy.

Further information on degree certificates can be found at: How You Will Receive Your Degree Documents (Internal Only)
