Guiliana Luizana

'A Journey' by Giuliana Lazzerini

Repeated daily until 8th June 2011, Trevelyan College, Durham

2nd May - 10th June
Free exhibition, open daily - paintings and prints by internationally renowned artist Giuliana Lazzerini.
In her exhibition “A Journey”, Giuliana will be showing watercolours, oils and acrylics, bringing a shot of Mediterranean light and colour to the bar.

Giuliana Lazzerini is an award-winning artist with an international reputation for vibrant, joyous paintings. She usually works on small series of paintings, often developed from ideas encountered on journeys. Memory and imagination then lead her into unknown territory where she can grow as an artist.

Giuliana was born in Tuscany and studied at the Istituto D’Arte Stagio Stagi in Pietrasanta, gaining a Master of Arts Diploma. This was followed by a further four years studying painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara. Her work has been shaped by the Tuscan landscape and by childhood memories, especially those of her father’s mosaic studio, where she was enchanted by the brilliant translucent fragments.

The exhibition may occasionally close earlier than published, due to other events. Please call 0191 334 7011 before travelling.
