Nasty Women NE present 'I am a Nasty Woman Because…'

13th June 2018, 11:55 to 15th June 2018, 16:00, Alington House, Durham

An Art Durham event. I am a Nasty Woman Because… is a celebration of all things Nasty and is the fifth exhibition presented by Nasty Women North East artist collective.
In January 2017 a group of creatives in New York City launched the first ever Nasty Women Exhibition. This exhibition was a protest towards the inauguration of President Trump and his policies towards women’s rights, individual rights, and abortion rights. This exhibition started a global art and activist movement with organisations forming in London, Portugal, Italy, Amsterdam and the North East of England.
Inspired by Durham University’s art collection, this exhibition highlights projects from Nasty Women NE artists Lady Kitt, Paige Megan Hawley, Rebecca Simpson and Edyta Czarnecka, who have created work inspired by their time in the movement.

Late Opening 14th June 6 - 8 pm.

Art Durham is a programme of creative arts events and exhibitions, and is part of Durham City Arts Festival, taking place throughout June 2018. For full programme details go to
