Teikyo Festival

21st October 2017, 10:00 to 16:00, Oriental Museum and Teikyo University of Japan in Durham

Come along and celebrate all things Japanese. Free entry all day from 10am.

Our neighbours, Teikyo University of Japan, are celebrating their annual festival today. To mark the occasion entry to the Oriental Museum will be free all day.

Between 1-3pm there will be drop-in craft activities in the museum - find out about food in Japan and make your own designer paper sushi.

This annual festival is held by students from Teikyo university of Japan in Durham. The exciting full day programme includes Japanese Tea Ceremonies, live music, Martial Arts demonstrations, traditional Japanese brush writing, Kimono, Japanese food, and is a wonderful introduction to many other facets of Japanese life. Admission is Free, but any donations go to a local children's charity.
