Centre Director Prof Michael Snape gives Oxford's 2020 Henson Lectures

Canon Professor Michael Snape, Michael Ramsey Professor of Anglican Studies and Director of the Centre for Anglican Studies, is to deliver the prestigious Hensley Henson Lecture series 2020 at the Faculty of Theology and Religion, Oxford University.

The five-lecture series is entitled ‘A Church Militant: Anglicans and the Armed Forces in Great Britain and the United States from Queen Victoria to the Vietnam War’. It begins on Thursday 27 February with the lecture ‘Anglicans, Empire and the Armed Forces’.

Further lectures follow on 4, 5, 11 and 12 March, on the themes of Anglicans and the First and Second World Wars, the Cold War, and remembrance.
