Information for Teachers
Please note that applications for the 2018 Summer School have now closed.
What do my students need to do?
Applications for the Sutton Trust Summer School 2018 have now closed. Students should receive news regarding their application in early May. Please remind students to check the Sutton Trust pages of our website to keep up to date with information. Applications for the 2019 Summer School will open in January 2019. Students are required to complete an application form for the programme and advice and guidance about the process is available from the Sutton Trust website.
Students can only apply for one Sutton Trust Summer School and must state which they wish to attend at the point of application.
Are my students eligible to apply?
Due to the popularity of the programme, students must meet certain eligibility criteria to apply for a place. The 2018 Sutton Trust Summer Schools are open to students (home UK only) studying in Year 12 or S5 in Scotland (or equivalent) at state maintained schools or colleges in the UK. Please see the apply page for further details.
If you have any questions or are not sure if one of your students is eligible, we encourage you to get in touch and we will be happy to talk through the application process with you.
Verifying a Student Application
Every student application to a Sutton Trust Summer School should be verified by a teacher using the online Teachers’ Confirmation Form. A link to the Teachers’ Confirmation Form for the 2018 Summer School should have been sent to you by the Sutton Trust via email when one of your students provided this information to them. Please note the deadline for this has now closed.
For more information about the confirmation form and what it contains, please read the teacher guidance provided by the Sutton Trust.
In order to comply with Data Protection legislation, we are required to seek express permission from an applicant before we disclose information about them or their application to any third party. If your students have a question or enquiry we would encourage that, where possible, they contact us directly and we will be happy to help. We will be unable to communicate with schools, friends or family members of applicants until express permission has been given. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
