Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Sport
Durham University is The Times and Sunday Times Sports University of the Year 2015. At Durham we have a tradition of sporting excellence; whether it's producing world class athletes in sports such as Rugby, Rowing, Hockey and Cricket, or having the highest participation rate at sport of any university in the country.
The University welcomes scholarship applications from all sports. Consequently any athlete performing at the highest level is strongly encouraged to apply for a scholarship where appropriate. Whilst we are confident that we can support a full range of sports, we would also point out that there are a number of ‘target’ sports where we feel we are better able to provide support at the very highest level.
Applicants should identify their chosen sports discipline on their scholarship application form.
As a Vice Chancellor Sports Scholar you would join an esteemed group of Durham University students and benefit from the following:
The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for Sport has enabled me to compete at an international level and represent my country in basketball. Travelling to Wales for training weekends wouldn’t really have been feasible without it.Jessica Hunt, MSci Natural Sciences
