Internships and Industry Fund (Computer Science)
Due to the generous support of Durham Alumnus and former Netflix CPO, Dr Neil Hunt we are delighted to announce the introduction of the Internships and Industry Fund providing financial support to students to assist with a range of industry activities.

Eligibility Criteria
Level - Undergraduate and Postgraduate
Fee Status - Home, Overseas or EU
Programmes - Actively enrolled on a Computer Science or Natural Science Programme at Durham Unversity.
Income - With a household income , as assessed by Student Finance England (or equivilant), below £42,875.00.
Temporary addition for the current 2020-21 cycle (Oct-June)
- Remote Internships Bursary (Max £500)
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic and to better support students who take up remote work experience this year, the bursary has been temporarily added for the current cycle. Please note that the limit any student can be awarded in one cycle is still £1,500. Please also note you can only apply for this bursary if your internship has been confirmed as remote.
Applications can be submitted for the following costs:
Travel Costs - the maximum allocation will be £600.00
Accommodation Costs - the maximum allocation will be £600.00
Supplementary Support Costs - the maxumum allocation will be £300.00
Applications can be submitted for support within all of the catagories above however the maximum allocation within the current cycle (October 20-June 21) will be £1,500.00

Household Income:
Confirmation of 2020/21 student loan entitlement and Durham Grant
If your income has not been assessed by the Student Loans Company you will need to provide evidence of your household income in the form of documents such as:
·3 months' pay slips
OR
·Latest annual tax summary document
OR
- An employment contract
Or
- Self-employed accounts
Please submit the completed application form to cs.internships@durham.ac.uk
It may take several weeks for your application to be considered and processed by the University so please ensure you submit your application in good time before your internship/placement/experience is due to start.

If you are successful in receiving support from the Internships and Industry Fund, then it is a mandatory requirement that you complete and return the Feedback Form so that your fund donor can be updated on how the fund has supported you.
