Hunt Scholarship


We are delighted to announce the introduction of the Hunt Scholarship generously supported by Durham Alumnus and former Netflix CPO, Dr Neil Hunt. The Hunt Scholarship will provide £4,000 per year for the duration of the recipients Computer Science Programme.

Prospective applicants must:

  • Stage 1: submit an academic application to Durham University via UCAS prior to the scholarship deadline of 28th February 2020
  • Stage 2:

Submit by 28th February 2020

    • a scholarship application including a personal statement of no more than 1,000 words, which should; explain your interest in studying Computer Science at Durham University; evidence any academic or extra-cirricular activity that demonstrates your passion and potential within the field of Computer Science: describe any barriers you currently face and explain how the Hunt Scholarship would make a difference to you.
    • a character reference from one of your teachers in support of your scholarship application to be sent by email to scholarship.application@durham.ac.uk Please ensure your referee submits the reference on letter headed paper which contains their name, position, contact details and your full name.
    • a copy of your Student Finance England assessment letter detailing your maintenance loan entitlement to be sent by email to scholarship.application@durham.ac.uk . (If you are waiting for confirmation of your entitlement please submit your scholarship application and forward details of your assessment letter as soon as you can)
