Accreditation of prior learning

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) allows things you may have already learned or skills you may have acquired to count towards your programme, so you don't have to study the same thing twice. You may also be eligible to apply for Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).

For details of the learning outcomes associated with individual modules you should consult the Faculty Handbook.

In order to apply for APL you must first have received an offer of admission from the University. You must therefore apply through UCAS in the normal way. Once you have received an offer you may be eligible to apply for APL. Not all departments accept APL; to ensure an application for APL will be considered you must first contact the department in which you are interested.
