Biography

Meg is a PhD student in the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences at Durham University, funded by the ESRC NINE DTP. She has previously graduated from Glasgow University with an MSc in Media, Communications, and International Journalism, and has a BA(Hons) from the University of Melbourne.

Research

Meg’s research focuses on athlete experiences of the commercialisation and professionalisation of endurance sports. This is centred around changes to the media landscape of these sports, the role that social media plays in the working lives of athletes, and aims for foreground how this context impacts and shapes athlete welfare.
