Biography

I am Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Durham University. I studied for an MPhys and DPhil in Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford, before holding postdoctoral positions at the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton), Perimeter Institute (Waterloo), and the University of Oxford.

My research focuses on the mathematical structures underlying quantum field theory. I currently lead an ERC Consolidator grant developing the mathematical foundations of generalised symmetries, aiming to uncover new principles and deepen our understanding of quantum systems. I am also a member of the Simons Collaboration on Global Categorical Symmetries, and I previously held an EPSRC Fellowship to study aspects of supersymmetric quantum field theory.

My full publication record is available on INSPIRE.
