Durham University

St Cuthbert's Society

Catering

St Cuthbert's Society is the only college in the University to offer a choice of fully-catered, self-catered and part-catered options, including pay-as-you-go. The cost of the different catering packages are reflected in your residence charge (the amount you pay in accommodation fees as a liver-in), but you can also eat in college as a liver out by purchasing meals from the servery.

Cuth’s is the only college that offers a diverse range of catering options. This means that we offer a full catered package, a part catered package and “pay as you go” package. So, if you live at Parsons’ Field or live out, you can take advantage of both the part catered (meals package) and the “pay as you go” options. If you would like to sign up for the meal package please contact Reception. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let our chef, Marc, know by emailing marc.reavley@durham.ac.uk

Fully-catered:

  • Meals are provided in the Dining Hall at our South Bailey site.
  • Students in fully-catered accommodation receive three meals per day, seven days per week.

The quality of food is excellent. To ensure that standards are consistently high, there is regular interaction between the student body and the staff responsible for the food. Also, if you have any dietary requirements, please let the college know in advance to ensure that we can provide what you require.

Self-catered:

  • Self-catered accommodation is offered as standard with all Parsons Field accommodation.
  • Large, fully-equiped kitchens are shared in flats of between 6-10 students.

Part-catered:

Students living in self-catered accommodation can sign up to the Meals Package, which entitles you to 10 meals per week during term time.

For information regarding the catering provision within the college, please contact the Food Services Manager, Haley Carr at hayley.carr@durham.ac.uk.
