St Cuthbert's Society

College Mentoring System

The College Mentoring System is managed by the Assistant Principal (Student Support) and is a personal development programme aimed at all students in St Cuthbert's. Each college operates a slightly different programme but it all has the same goal; to increase the employability of its students. We provide first years only with a named college mentor who can be contacted if you are confused about anything to do with the college or the University; it can be difficult making that step from college/sixth form to University. When you get into the second year and beyond, you will have found your feet and make use of the weekly Student Development and Employability Programme; this is a very important part of the College Mentoring System and involves speakers from the academic community, college staff, alumni, the Senior Common Room and local and national contacts.

Further support from the College Office: The staff in the College Office provide information and signposting to you in relation to your academic course. Your first point of contact will be the college receptionists either face to face or via Ann Peart - - deals with undergraduate (full time) admissions enquiries and issues relating to registration. Joyce Elliott - - deals with part time undergraduate admissions, postgraduate admissions and all administrative issues relating to your course. Office hours are normally 9am to 5pm and the direct line is 0191 33 43400.
