St Cuthbert's Society

Student Life

Every student at Durham University belongs to a college - a vibrant, supportive community that provides opportunities for you to gain new experiences and develop and enhance skills to achieve more in your future career and life. To be part of college life, we strongly encourage you to take part in extra curricular activities, such as becoming involved in a sport or society, helping to run Cuth's JCR, attending Formal Dinners or social events, and much more.

Meet Alex...

"To me, Cuth’s is at the heart of my university experience. The vibrant JCR takes so much initiative and creates so many opportunities for all the students. I have become treasurer of the drama society, organised a ball on social committee, played in sports matches and welcomed prospective students on open days. I have even run election campaigns and bagged myself an exec position - something that I never expected to do. My degree may be why I’m here, but Cuth's is why I’ll stay"
