The Library has a self-checkout system and students can borrow up to 20 College Library books in addition to their University Library entitlement. Loan periods are three weeks.
You will need your campus card to borrow books.
Books must be returned (or renewed) by the 'due back' date. Return books to the Librarian on duty or drop them into the Books Return Bin (in the College Library, opposite the entrance).
To check the due dates of your books go to the Durham University Library Online Catalogue and log in to view your record.
You may renew an item up to 10 times. Login into your Durham University Library account to renew your loans.
Overdue and recalled books cannot be renewed.
You can reserve a book already on loan using the Durham University Online Catalogue.
You will receive an email notification when your book is ready to collect and it will be held for one week.
Each overdue item is fined at the rate of 20p per day, or £1 per day for recalled items. Fines totalling £5 or more create an automatic block on borrowing until cleared.
Fines can be paid at the Bill Bryson Library or online (if the total amount is £5 or more).
