Conference registration fee for full delegates and students includes;

  • admission to all scientific sessions
  • a book of abstracts and other conference material
  • welcome reception on the evening of Sunday 17th Sept
  • coffee breaks and lunches on Monday 18th to Thursday 21st Sept
  • conference excursion on the afternoon of Wednesday 20th Sept (for details click here )
  • conference banquet on the evening of Thursday 21st Sept (see below).

Conference registration fee for accompanying person includes;

  • welcome reception on the evening of Sunday 17th Sept
  • conference excursion on the afternoon of Wednesday 20th Sept
  • conference banquet on the evening of Thursday 21st Sept

Lunch each day will be held in Grey College, a short walk from the conference lecture theatre.

Conference Banquet. There will be a conference banquet held in the 13th century Great Hall of Durham Castle on the evening of Thursday 21st September. Although the cost of the conference banquet is included in the cost of registration, the Great Hall can only seat a maximum of 192, and places will be allocated on a first come/first served basis.

When registering, you MUST please indicate whether you would like to attend the banquet or not.


Accommodation in two locations has been reserved in Durham for participants of IP 2017.

1. Grey College is a short walk (10 minutes) from where the conference will be held and accommodation includes breakfast with both en-suite and standard single rooms available. Accommodation will be available from 14:00 on Sunday 17th September until the morning of Friday 22nd September inclusive (5 nights) at the following rates.

Grey College – Bed and breakfast, en suite – £50 per night

Grey College – Bed and breakfast – £37.50 per night

Additional nights both before and after these dates can be arranged at the same pro rata rate. Please contact the conference administrators Event Durham(conferenceadministration.service@durham.ac.uk).


2. For those delegates preferring hotel accommodation, rooms have been reserved at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Durham (http://www.radissonblu.co.uk/hotel-durham). Reduced conference rates of £109 per night (inc breakfast) are available and rooms should be booked through the conference registration website.

The hotel is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk from the site of the conference although shuttle buses will be available, at the start and end of each day, to transport delegates to and from the conference site.

You should indicate your choice of accommodation when you register for the conference.
