Faculty of Social Sciences & Health
The Faculty of Social Sciences & Health, the largest of Durham's three academic divisions, is a leading centre for social science research and teaching. We are regularly ranked within the World's top 50 centres for the social sciences by the Times Higher Education Supplement and our departments and schools feature prominently within the top domestic rankings for research, teaching, student experience and employability.
Across our 12 departments, schools and units is a diverse community of 4,700 Undergraduates, 3,300 postgraduates and over 350 academic and research staff.
The Faculty manages and supports the constituent academic units that make up the division. The Faculty is led by the Pro-Vice ChancellorProfessor Robin Coningham, who is assisted by four Deputy Heads of Faculty.
