Flourish@Work: Research Culture Enrichment for Women at Work workshop

We held the Flourish@Work: Research Culture Enrichment for Women at Work workshop Organized by Dr Nelly Bencomo Prof Barbara Bechter
This workshop continued the collaborative efforts of our IAA weDecide project and was also supported by a small grant from the Research Culture Flourish@Durham initiative and the Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing (WRIHW).
We brought together researchers, clinicians, and colleagues across disciplines to explore how menopause impacts women at work and how our research culture can evolve to better support them.
Our aim was to foster dialogue, share emerging findings, and co-develop strategies for further collaboration, policy impact, and inclusive practices. We were fortunate to have a fantastic group of women (and allies) join us, including:
Jennifer Horkoff, our GP menopause specialist
Barbara Bechter, Durham University Business School
Kirstie Taylor, Health Innovation NENC
Akansha Singh and Dafni Lima, Durham Law School
Tracey Dennison RGN, BSc(hons), MSc, PgDip(Aes), ANP, INP
Dylan Walton, our researcher from Computer Science
and others who contributed their insights and experiences.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your voices are shaping how we create more supportive and inclusive workplaces for women navigating menopause and beyond.
Let’s keep the momentum going – this is just the beginning.
