We are delighted to announce the following vacancies within the Discovery Research Platform and Institute for Medical Humanities Operations Team.

Grade 4 General Administrator:

The General Administrative Assistant will work with Platform leads, key academic Lab and Site Leads in the Platform, Institute for Medical Humanities staff and a variety of administrative teams across the University to deliver excellent operational and administrative support.  The role will provide a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities including: supporting the leads across the platform; making purchase orders; assisting with the administration of events; servicing management group meetings and ensuring DRP-MH administrative processes and systems give efficient and effective support.

 
Grade 4 Administrator:
The Administrator will work with Platform leads; key academic Lab and Site Leads in the Platform; Institute for Medical Humanities staff and a variety of administrative teams across the University, to delivery excellent operational and administrative support.  The role will provide a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities including providing administrative support and basic diary management to the Directors of the CRP-MH and Senior Manager (Research & Engagement) making purchase orders, assisting with the administration of events, servicing management group meetings and ensuring the administrative processes and systems give excellent and effective support.
 
Grade 5 Events and Fellowship Coordinator:

The Events and Fellowship Coordinator will work closely with Platform leads, key academic Lab and Site Leads in the Platform, Institute for Medical Humanities staff, visiting Fellows and a variety of administrative teams across the University to deliver excellent operational and administrative support for events, meetings, workshops, conferences and other related activity. The role will encompass a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities around two main areas of work events: to manage the coordination, delivery, and evaluation of an extensive calendar of events for the Platform, and the Fellowship programme: providing administrative support, help with induction and general guidance. Events will be a combination of face to face, hybrid and online and may require out of normal office hours working and some travel.  Liaising with the Platform, Lab, and Site Leads, as well as delivery partners such as the Creative Facilitation Unit, Communications Leads and digital producers, you will support the design and have responsibility for the operational delivery of events. You will also be the first point of contact for visiting Fellows, helping to plan and support their visits to Durham, providing guidance, supporting plans of activity for each fellowship, supporting fellows to engage with the wider Platform community and directing enquiries to other areas when appropriate.

 
Grade 6 Finance Officer:

As the Discovery Research Platform Finance & Administration Officer, you will work closely with the Platform and Institute Directors and Operations Manager to play a key role in the operational running of budgets, process data and information recording, and assessment data, to ensure activities, budgets and documents comply with internal University and external funder regulations, policies, and procedures. You will also work with the Leads on Communications, Engagement, Research and Creative Facilitation; key academic Lab and Site Leads in the Platform; Institute for Medical Humanities staff and a variety of administrative teams across the University, to deliver excellent financial and administrative support. This will include setting up systems to help with the tracking of requisitions, managing and maintaining financial and budget records and reconciling expenditure queries. You will also assist the Operations Manager in forecasting and reporting on the budget. You will act as a source of expertise and advice to the team, assisting them in the delivery of the DRP-MH and Institute vision and strategy. The role also includes ensuring compliance, monitoring and evaluation of outputs and open access policies. You will support the ethics and data subgroup, arranging meetings, booking rooms, distributing meeting documentation, arranging catering, setting up and clearing the meeting rooms when required.
