[05/25] The Exploring Risk Visual Arts Festival 2025 explored stories of increasing resilience through visual arts approaches. The event was co-organised by IHRR at Durham University, Tribhuvan University, Nepal and IIT Mandi, India.
The Exploring Risk Visual Arts Festival 2025 explored stories of increasing resilience through visual arts approaches. The festival showcased films that depicted how communities and individuals adapt, endure, and thrive in the face of complex global shifts, ranging from environmental to societal crises. These stories were shared from the perspectives of global scientists, practitioners, and artists about our responses to floods, landslides, and climate change.
The event was organised by the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) at Durham University, UK, in collaboration with the Center for Disaster Studies, Institute of Engineering (CDS-IoE), Tribhuvan University, Nepal and the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi, India.
All three universities came together for a joint screening of the films and prize-giving. Three films were selected for awards:
