IMEMS is the Institute sponsor of the Renaissance Society of America which is the leading international Conference for Early Modern Renaissance Studies. We regularly sponsor panels at the Conference and support the attendance of a delegation from Durham University.

As an associate organisation of the RSA, IMEMS is eligible to submit up to 4 sponsored panels, which will automatically be accepted by the RSA. We invite panel submissions by Monday 6 August 2018. These should be sent to and copied to, who is coordinating the conference on behalf of the Institute.

Information required for a panel application:

 Session title

 session keywords

 Audio-Visual requests

 A chair

 For each paper presenter you will submit a paper title

abstract (150-word maximum)

 Keywords

 A brief curriculum vitae (300-word maximum).

Please read the RSA guidelines:

Do not hesitate to get in touch with Toby Osborne should you need any advice on panels.

The Institute has a budget of £3,000 to support applicants, with priority given to IMEMS panels. Funds are available from IMEMS to help sponsor panels from Durham. Please note, however, that IMEMS may not be able to cover the full cost of the trip. Those wishing to attend will need to seek additional funding through their respective departments, as well as the Faculty.

Members of IMEMS are encouraged to make a proposal for panels to and to copy in Toby Osborne, who is the RSA representative by Monday 6th August 2018.
