Postgraduate Workshop: Early Printed Books

Professor Anne T. Thayer (Lancaster Theological Seminary) was an IMEMS Library Fellow during Summer 2015, during which time she worked on ‘The marginalia of Dr. Thomas Swalwell, monk of Durham (1483-1539)’.

Prof. Thayer is returning to Durham later this month to give a lecture: ‘A Monk’s Books: Windows on Religious Life in Early 16th-Century England’.

During her visit, Prof. Thayer has agreed to offer a postgraduate workshop on early printed books, using some of the volumes in the Durham collections annotated by Swalwell over the course of his monastic career.
