MEMSA Conference 2014: 'On the Fringes: Outsiders and Otherness in the Medieval and Early Modern Worlds'

8th July 2014, 09:00 to 10th July 2014, 18:00, Durham University

This year's conference will explore the idea of the 'other' as a physical boundary or cultural separation. Paper presentations will discuss social constraints, exclusionary misunderstandings, the safety of the wilderness, sects, geographical mobilisation, and the nature of exclusion itself.

Keynote speakers will be Dr Sarah Barber (Lancaster University) and Dr John McKinnell (Durham University). In addition to our speakers, the conference will also offer a manuscript session with Prof Richard Gameson, a conference banquet, wine receptions, and a private tour of Durham Cathedral.

All are most welcome to attend. To book click here.
