Blackfriars Lecture: 'Eggs Benedict, Monks, & their Food'

Dr Giles Gasper, Lecturer in Medieval History and Associate Director of Durham University's Institute of Medieval and Renaissance Studies will be giving a lecture at Blackfriar's Restaurant in Newcastle.

Dr Gasper will discuss the diverse culinary views held by various religious groups in medieval times including one order who would only allow eggs to be boiled and another who considered eggs in hundreds of delicious recipes! This lecture is going to be egg'celent and includes an eggy lunch! Information can be found on the Blackfriars website.

TIMES: Lecture at 11am; eggy lunch at 12.30pm, £25pp [£10 for students]
