Professor Lena Dominelli receives an appreciation award for her contributions to international social work

A group of visitors from South Korea, some MISWCD students and the Immediate Past President of the International Federation of Social Workers attended an IHRR and SASS hosted seminar on the Sewol Ferry Disaster and the relevance of green social work approaches to disasters to learn about transferable skills and lessons that could cross borders. At the end of the seminar, the Korean visitors, led by presented an appreciation award to Professor Lena Dominelli for her contributions to international social work, and the help she has given to the victim-survivors of one of South Korea's major recent disasters.
