Laos and Vietnam to complete demarcation by 2014

(7 July 2009)

At the joint session of border experts held from June 28 until July 3, the delegations from Vietnam and Laos agreed to speed up the process of boundary demarcation. In particular, they decided to complete the demarcation exercise by 2014. Reports indicate that the parties still have to erect 96 remaining border markers and update some existing marks.
