Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC MP

Human Rights Centre Annual Irvine Human Rights Lecture

19th October 2017, 18:00, Hogan Lovells Lecture Theatre, Dominic Grieve MP

This year the Irvine lecture will take the form of an 'In conversation with' Q&A with Dominic Grieve QC, MP, former Attorney-General, Chair of Parliament's Security and Intelligence Committee and a well known Conservative proponent of the UK's membership of both the EU and the ECHR at 6pm in the Hogan Lovells Lecture Theatre. Issues to be discussed with Mr Grieve will range over the Brexit negotiations and Britain's future relationship with the EU, the 'Great Repeal Bill' currently before Parliament (of which the speaker has been a leading critic), thinking within the Conservative party on the UK's future adherence to the European Convention on Human Rights and the planned replacement of the Human Rights Act with a British Bill of Rights, the role of judicial power in the constitution and no doubt many others.

The Speaker will be introduced by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Stuart Corbridge.
