How to access Taleo

To access Taleo please click here, once you have successfully logged in using your Durham University login credentials you will be greeted with your homepage.

Once here, click on Recruiting, then click on Recruiting again and you are now in Taleo.

This will be due to the settings within the requisition, a person who wishes to access a requisition needs to be selected as a Hiring Manager, a Hiring Manager assistant or a collaborator. You can find out how to do this in our Creating a Requisition Video.

This will be due to your Oracle permissions settings, please contact Cherith Smith (Recruitment Manager) or Katie Robinson (Assistant Recruitment Manager) if you are having this problem.

Taleo is very strict with it’s time limit for creating a requisition, if the page is left unused for a while it will not allow you to save and you will lose your information. We advise that you schedule appropriate time to create your requisition.

No, unfortunately we cannot amend the Requisition or Job Description once this has been advertised.

Yes, this is a simple change within the Requisition in Taleo. We advise that the individual processing any administration for any New Starter should be the designated “Hiring Manager” as Taleo will automatically send alerts to this individual. You can assign responsibility from the creation of the Requisition or later down the line. It is simply editing the Requisition and changing the name of the assigned “Hiring Manager”.

Below is an outline of the current lead times required by the Recruitment Team at each stage of the Recruitment process:

Once the candidate accepts the offer and completes on-boarding, we will request they are processed in the system. Once processed, CIS will create their IT account Maximum of 10 working days prior to start date

No, post all interviews, the proposed offer needs approval, and the assigned HR Administrator needs to receive all Interview Notes, Eligibility/Qualifications and UKVI paperwork before a contract can be issued (or employment can begin).

Since April 2020 it is a legal requirement that we issue particulars of employment prior to commencement, therefore we are unable to backdate contracts.
