Resources

Finding Information

You can search for information using the PC in the library, or you can use your laptop to search by following the link to the Durham University Online Catalogue. From here, enter your search terms and change the location on the drop-down menu from Full Catalogue to Hatfield College Library to see only those books held in the college collections..

Borrowing

Students may borrow up to 10 Hatfield books in addition to their regular Bill Bryson Library book limit. Books must be borrowed using the borrowing computer, or by filling out the manual issue log. Please bring your camps card with you to borrow.

All books taken from the Library must be checked out to your Library Record.

Returning

On or before the due date please return your library books by either handing them to a member of library staff or, if the library is shut, please put your books in the return box outside of the library door.

Renewing

You may renew an item up to 10 times. Use the Durham University Online Catalogue and log in to renew loans and view your record.

Reserving

You can reserve a book by using the Durham University Online Catalogue. Find the record for the book you want, select the Reserve button, and follow the instructions. You will receive an email notification that your book is ready to collect.

Overdue Books and Fines

Items that become overdue accrue fines until the item is returned in line with the Bill Bryson Library fine charges; each overdue item is charged at 20p per day, or £1 per day for recalled items. Fines to be paid in cash at Hatfield directly to the Librarian. Otherwise, fines can be paid at the Bill Bryson Library or online if the amount is £1 or more.
