Research Overview

I am an early-career post-doc researcher specialized in the movement of sediment on the seafloor. For my PhD at Utrecht University, I studied in physical experiments and the rock record the movement and deposition of sediment by turbidity currents. During my first PDRA at the same institute, I established my own research topic by investigating the transport and burial of microplastics by turbidity currents in physical experiments. My next goal is to translate my findings from the experiments to real-world turbidite systems, and to understand the transport and ultimate fate of microplastics on the seafloor.
