Structural and Thermal evolution of the Mozambique Margin

There are several aspects of the transform margin that need to be better constrained to reduce exploration risk. The thermal evolution of transform margins has not been as thoroughly researched as conventional rifted passive margins. Therefore the record of temperature with time is not well constrained and the history of maturation of potential source rocks is not well calibrated. The simplistic structural evolution of a continental-ocean fracture zone put forward between the 1960s and 1990s is extremely simplistic and with the exploration of these margins it now needs updating.
