Earth Science research fellow Dr Phil Heron has been selected as a N8 New Pioneer.

(27 January 2020)

The N8 Research Partnership is a collaboration of the eight most research intensive universities in the North of England (Newcastle, Lancaster, Manchester, Leeds, Durham, York, Sheffield and Liverpool). Among the 19,000 academic staff across the N8, there spans a wealth of experience and expertise in areas across the physical, life and environmental sciences, engineering, social sciences, the arts and humanities and more. The N8 New Pioneers look at “some of the rising stars across the N8 institutions who are working on unique and pioneering research, and creating real world impact through their work”.

Phil’s work on prison education has been highlighted alongside 35 other scientists from the N8 Research Partnership.
