CVAC and IAS Visual Evidence Series: Evidence, Museums and Knowledge Workshop

2:00pm to 2:00pm, Kenworthy Hall, St Mary's College

In contemporary culture it is simply assumed that people learn from visiting museums and looking. In the workshop we will reflect on this assumption from a number of perspectives, including those of museum professionals. Educational activities in museums provide a fruitful way in, for example. Those with a diverse range of interests will come together to think hard about an area that plays an important role in the present day.

We are delighted that Susan Raikes (British Museum, London), Dr Mungo Campbell (Hunterian Museum, Glasgow), Dr Tim Boon (Science Museum, London) and Dr Tilly Blythe (Science Musuem, London) will be contributing, alongside others at Durham University including Dr. Sarah Price; Dr. Craig Barclay; Dr. Keith Bartlett, Dr. Tom Stammers and Ms. Hazel Edwards, and other members of CVAC.

There will be organized tours of Durham University Museums and the DLI if required.
