This event is part of CVAC's ongoing 'Contemporary Art in Focus' series, curated by Hazel Donkin.
At Durham Castle Macari will present a performance piece in the Norman Chapel. Macari’s performance at Castle will facilitate an exploration of what is at work in the liturgy.
Ant Macari’s practice is marked by an expanded approach to drawing which incorporates performance, installation, sound, improvisation, theatre, poetry and film. Context/ site specific research and response is often essential to the elaboration of his ideas, which engage with their immediate situations and explore/ subvert conventions of reading and display.
