Community Engagement Task Force

The Community Engagement Task Force (CETF) was established by Durham University in early 2018 as a way for the University and local partners to work together.

Chaired by the Pro Vice Chancellor Global, our work through the task force supports civic engagement, nurturing close links with our city and local communities. The CETF keeps the University and City connected and builds knowledge across its membership of key work being undertaken in the city and region.

Future Meetings

The Community Engagement Task Force aims to meet four times every academic year; once in each term and once during the summer vacation period.

In the current academic year, our meetings will be as follows:

  • Michaelmas Term – 9th December 2024
  • Epiphany Term – 19th March 2025
  • Summer Term –  date to be confirmed
  • Vacation – date to be confirmed

In addition to the main Task Force meetings, the CETF was set up with four Sub-Groups. These groups enabled focussed thinking around specific thematic topics. They aim to meet at least once, if not twice termly and membership is wider than the main task force (you can find out more about membership in the Terms of Reference). Durham Students Union, City of Durham Parish Council and Durham University Residents Forum have a representative place on each of the CETF Sub-Groups.
