Pat Beesley

Pat Beesley is a part-time PhD student in English Literature at Newcastle University. She is researching late C19 communication technology and its intersection with British and American fiction between 1880 and 1914. She is particularly interested in the relation between women's use of spaces created in the séance room and their use of spaces that emerge in telecommunications - the telegraph and telephone. Pat is co-convener of Newcastle University's School of English postgraduate Speaker Series.
