LTT Win Greenhouse Award
Blackboard ran a competition called the Greenhouse Awards where sites could bid for funding for 'initiatives that promote the adoption of Internet technology in the educational environment'. The Learning Technologies Team entered and submitted a bid for funding for a project to develop a community of Building Block developers. (Building blocks are a means of extending the functionality of the Blackboard software.)
The bid has been successful so Malcolm Murray will be returning from the Blackboard Conference in Baltimore, USA with a cheque (or at least the promise of a cheque) for US$25,000. Durham University was the only finalist from outside North America and was joined by the University of Southern Indiana, George Mason University and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
