Different cultures share information continuously across national, political, and economic borders, but do they really communicate? How do we study this flow of competing, and often opposing, exchange of data, behaviours, beliefs, goods, arts, and ideas?

The Centre for Intercultural Mediation supports, encourages, and promotes Durham's multi- and inter-disciplinary approaches to understanding the intricate complexity of mediating human thoughts and behaviours across linguistic, political, cognitive, and cultural boundaries.

This year the topic is: Interdisciplinary Dialogues in Translation Studies. We will have Roberto A. Valdeón, Ricardo Muñoz Martín and Thomas Juan Carlos Hüsgen as our keynote speakers. In addition, every participant has 20 minutes to present his/her research and 10 minutes to answer questions raised by audience. This is then followed by a round table discussion on the topic.
