CeREES Centre for Geoenergy
CeREES Centre for Geoenergy is the only research centre in the UK that works across all geoenergy themes, carrying out high level multidisciplinary research in Petroleum, Unconventional Hydrocarbons, Geothermal, Clean Coal, Resources from Waste and Carbon Capture and Storage. Since it was founded in 2006, CeREES has attracted £1.3M research income per annum.
CeREES links together research groups across Durham and is affiliated with the Durham Energy Institute. Our researchers work with appropriate institutions and organisations locally, nationally and internationally.
Our Mission: Work in partnership with industry, research councils, and government to achieve internationally excellent and world leading research in Geoenergy.
CeREES Geoenergy PhD Scholarship Programme trains and nurtures some of the highest calibre PhD researchers in Europe and provides a structured framework for entry into the energy industry. The Geo-Energy PhD Scholarship Programme is unique in the UK, as it provides additional monthly short courses taught by industry experts and is designed to provide regular interaction with industry professionals.
CeREES hosts the Geoenergy Database, a free database that provides an overview of global Geoenergy research.
