Current Research Projects within CECH

The Ethics and Aesthetics of Archaeological Stewardship – AHRC Network Research Grant (Dr Elisabeth Schellekens, Dr Robin Skeates, Dr Andreas Pantazatos) – this project starts on 1st of June 2013 and lasts for 18 months, including two workshops (October 2013 and April 2014) and a conference (September 2014).

Time and Heritage IAS award – this project funded by Durham’s Institute of Advanced Studies and provides a platform for research collaboration regarding ethical issues which arise from the transformation of heritage over time. The project includes a Fellowship (October 2012-December 2012) for Professor Alison Wylie (Washington University, Seattle) who is a leading international scholar in the ethics of archaeology, a conference on the Collaborative Stewardship of Historical Urban Landscapes and World Heritage Sites and a series of public lectures which will take place between January 2013 and March 2013.
