An essential part of your recruitment process should be to make students and recent graduates of Durham University aware of your vacancies. The Careers & Enterprise centre hosts a Vacancy Advertising System on which these posts can be displayed, free of charge. To use this system for the first time please select Register or if you have already registered with us please Log In.
Using our online content management system, Graduate Recruiters can carry out a range of essential tasks:
- Update organisation details
- Add and remove named contacts
- Submit graduate vacancies
- Display a company logo on relevant webpages, eg vacancies or events
- Contact the Careers & Enterprise Centre
All vacancies can be viewed by our existing students and many of our recent graduates.
Please note that all company registrations and vacancy advertisements must be approved by our Vacancy Coordinator before publication on our system; you should allow up to five working days for this. Every vacancy must comply with UK employment legislation as well as our own Vacancy Advertising Policy.
Information to include
To maintain a well-ordered system, all vacancies are displayed to students with a Fact File. This is comprised of much of the information garnered from the required fields of the online form – such as the type of opportunity, occupational area, location and salary range – and the closing date for applications. Please also remember to include the expiry date for your advertisement (usually the same as the closing date).
You will also have a general text field in which the details of the post can be shown, together with any specific requirements for skills and experience.
Our Vacancy Bulletin is emailed to all our students and many of our recent graduates each Thursday throughout the year. This contains a link to our Vacancy Advertising System, in addition to a selected list of vacancies across a range of sectors which highlight the variety of opportunities available.
Employers may wish to choose an enhanced advertising service, where they may either sponsor the Bulletin or purchase a featured paragraph within it. This can help to raise the profile of both the post and the company, and is regarded as an effective method of vacancy promotion by many employers. For further information, and to book your sponsorship/featured paragraph, please follow the link to our Vacancy Bulletin.
