Transition to HE

All incoming undergraduates have pre-arrival access to “Transitions into HE”, a short induction course in duo (Durham University online). The course, includes video interviews with Durham students and staff, interactive activities, exercises, self-assessment tools and a discussion board.

The course is split into four sections:

Preparing for Academic Study
Arriving at Durham and what you can expect to experience once you get here.

Introducing Independent Learning
The differences between learning at school and at university. The section includes a variety of activities to help you develop the new skills that you will need.

Digital Literacies
Your digital footprint and how it could affect your future career. Also looking at various online programmes you can use to the support your studies.

Preparing for your Arrival
This final section looks back at the skills you have developed during the course and looks forward to support available for you in Durham.

Accessing Transition to HE

First year undergraduates: The course will be available from mid September. Once you have your University login details, the course can be found in duo (Durham University Online ) on your home page under the heading of Transitions to HE.
