Stay cool without the carbon

When temperatures rise, keeping cool does not have to cost the Earth.
Here are our tips to stay without the carbon...
• Cool smarter, not harder: No air con? No problem. Block out the sun with blinds during the day and open windows and doors to keep air moving
• Choose fans over air con: Air con has a high negative environmental impact, so opt for fans instead. However, if you do use air con, set it to a higher temperature, keep doors and windows shut, and set a timer to turn it off when the space is cool enough
• Dress appropriately: Dress light in loose cotton or other light and breathable fabrics
• Timing is everything: Stay out of the sun at its peak hours between 11:00 and 15:00. Plan activities for cooler times and use shade, clothing and sunscreen if outdoors
• Stay refreshed: Fill up your reusable bottle, no need for single-use plastic. Hydration is key to preventing heat exhaustion!
