Artists in Residence

We regularly form partnerships with the artistic community in the North East, nationally and internationally, and appreciate the huge value artists and other creative practitioners can bring to our work and research.

Artists in Residence are one form of partnership we pursue. We aim that any residency is a fair, beneficial and collaborative process for an artist.

If you are an artist or creative practitioner interested in working with the university, please contact our Curator for Contemporary Art for an initial informal conversation about your practice and objectives.

If you are an academic or college representative wanting to explore a collaboration with an artist, please contact our Curator for Contemporary Art and Senior Impact and Engagement Manager before you start your project. This will ensure that both the artist and the University benefit the most they can from each other’s experience.
