Biography

I have experience and a background in both Clinical and Forensic psychiatric settings. I am a keen advocate in patient/service users' rights and, through empirical research, voicing their views in making key systemic changes. I am currently working on a project to increase physical activities in medium secure forensic psychiatric hospitals, through co-produced intervention developement methodologies. I am also interested in the family/carers involvement with services and research into improving access to physical health whilst detained under the Mental Health Act or imprisonment.

I also conduct research around tackling Sexual Violence and Misconduct in Higher Education. I have a particular interest in how culture and ethnicity may influence rates of reporting, in addition to evaluating the processes used by Universities when incidents are reported to them.
