Making an appointment

Please refer to our Researcher Guidelines before contacting us to make an appointment. Requests should ideally be sent at least one month prior to the anticipated start date of your research visit.

We strongly advise that you do not make travel arrangements until we have confirmed a date and time for your visit. 

Hours

Subject to limitations of staff and space resource, research access to our collections is available Monday to Friday by appointment only.

To make an appointment, please email us with your request, including as much information as possible on the subject and purpose of the research, and your preferred date/dates.

If you have booked a research visit and find that you expect to be delayed, please inform museum staff as soon as possible on 0191 334 5691 or by emailing the relevant member of staff.
