Structure

The University’s Energy and Sustainability Team works within the Estates and Facilities Directorate and is responsible for delivering the Greenspace Movement, key environmental policies and strategies, with the support from the ESSPG and its members, working groups, the Environment Champions and Student Reps, and other members of the University.

The Director of Estates and Facilities, David Loudon, is a University Executive Committee (UEC) member and represents the Energy and Sustainability Team.

Environmental Sustainability Strategic Planning Group (ESSPG)

The main purposes of Environmental Sustainability Strategic Planning Group are to:

  • Advise the University Executive Committee (UEC) on all strategic matters relating to
    environmental sustainability;
  • Take forward the strategic decisions of the University relating to agreed policies
    within the area of environmental sustainability;
  • Review, on behalf of UEC, the University’s environmental policies, keeping UEC
    regularly informed of progress made in implementing the policies;
  • Make the University community aware of environmental policies and initiatives,
    including environmental compliance.
