The Labour/Data Justice project responds to UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all.

We’ve recently welcomed over 20 new apprentices across the University and are able to fund their training thanks to the Government’s Apprenticeship Levy. The Apprenticeship Levy gives employers like us the opportunity to invest in high-quality training and help to develop a skilled workforce.

Prof McCann is a founder and Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee of the international research Network on Regulating for DecentWork [http://www.law.unimelb.edu.au/rdw], a global interdisciplinary network of researchers and policy-makers that promotes innovative approaches to labour market regulation. She is on the editorial Board of the Industrial Law Journal and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Labour Law Research Network[http://www.ilo.org/public/english/iira/study/labourmarket.

This statement responds to S.54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Durham University has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.
